For the fifth time, municipalities developed joint action plans relating to climate protection and adjustment to climate change as part of the “Kommunale Klimapartnerschaften” (Municipal Climate Partnerships) project, and presented them as part of an international workshop in Berlin-Lichtenberg.
Around 60 people took part in the workshop. Among them were lord mayors and mayors, as well as municipal representatives from the fields of administration, politics and civil society. The developed action programmes with targets, measures and allocated resources should be systematically integrated into the work of the existing municipal partnerships, and implemented in the short to medium term.
The “Kommunale Klimapartnerschaften” project is jointly realised by Servicestelle Kommunen in der Einen Welt (Service Agency Communities in One World – SKEW), Engagement Global, and Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Agenda 21 NRW e.V. (LAG 21 NRW). The project is supported by two committee decisions made by the Deutscher Städtetag (German Association of Cities), as well as by the Deutscher Städte- und Gemeindebund (German Association of Towns & Cities) and the Deutscher Landkreistag (German Rural District Association).
